A GLOBAL TENTMAKER COMMUNITY
Our vision for Virtual Tentmakers is to create a community of remote-working believers located in hubs around the world. These hubs are modeled after the early church where believers lived together in community, gave to those in need, preached the gospel boldly, and planted churches.
GIVING TO THOSE IN NEED
The book of Acts says when there was a need, the church came together to fill it. They were known for not just how well they took care of each other, but how they cared for even non-believers. We envision a community who pools together their resources and delivers aid to the people around them. The needs of the world are great and the possibilities are endless.
SELF-SUSTAINING
Members of the community are not dependent on support-raising, but instead are trained and equipped to work remotely online and are completely in charge of their own finances.
What does it look like to be self-sustaining?
For reference: working 20 hours per week at a starting wage of $20/hr equates to roughly $1600/month, which as a single person is more than enough to live in many parts of the world especially if sharing accommodation with other tentmakers.
LIVING IN COMMUNITY
We envision a community that functions as a family, that loves one another deeply, and shows this by how they care and sacrifice for one another.
They’re involved in each other’s lives, gather in each other’s homes, share meals together, and pray with one another.
MODELING THE EARLY CHURCH
The Tentmaker communities are modeled after the early church, where believers lived in community, cared for those around them, gave to those in need, shared the gospel, and made disciples.
We believe that the church functions with Jesus at the head and everyone coming to the table with a servant-heart, using his or her gifts to build up the body of Christ.
We envision the community to be filled with courageous men and women who boldly step out in faith and radically change the environment around them.
